Privacy notice
What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. Written to be read rather than to be complied with.

Who is responsible
Stingers at the Collective CC is the responsible party for the personal information described here, as that term is used in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. Questions, requests and complaints go to bookings@stingersindoor.co.za.
Our Information Officer
POPIA requires every responsible party to have an Information Officer, registered with the Information Regulator, who answers for how personal information is handled. Under the Act that role sits with the head of Stingers at the Collective CC. Their registration with the Information Regulator is being completed and we will name them on this page as soon as it is confirmed.
The role is filled and reachable in the meantime. Write to bookings@stingersindoor.co.za marked for the attention of the Information Officer, or by post at The Collecthive, Circular Dr, Pinelands, Gqeberha, 6070.
Send anything to do with your personal information there: a request for a copy of what we hold, a correction, a deletion, an objection or a complaint about how we have handled it.
What we collect and why
When you book a bay
Your name, email address and phone number, together with the date, time, bay and what you are playing. We need it to hold the bay, to send you the confirmation and to reach you if something changes. Without it we cannot take the booking.
When you sign the indemnity
Your full name, your South African ID number or your date of birth, your mobile number, your email address, the name and number of an emergency contact, your typed name and your drawn signature. We also record the date and time, the version of the wording you agreed to, the IP address the signature came from and the browser you used.
We collect it because the agreement has to be attributable to a specific person on a specific date against specific wording to be worth anything to either of us. The emergency contact exists for one reason: so that if you are hurt on the premises we can call somebody.
Children
Where a person under 18 is playing, we collect that child’s full name, date of birth and relationship to the adult signing. This is a child’s personal information and we only collect it with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, which is what the guardian block on the indemnity form is. We do not collect anything else about children and we do not market to them.
When you send us a message
Your name, email address, phone number if you give one and what you wrote.
When you register interest
Your email address and what you asked about. Nothing else is sent to that address.
How long we keep it

The indemnity periods are longer than they look because the time limit on a claim is what sets them and for a child that clock does not start until they are old enough to bring one. Records past their date are deleted automatically, not archived.
Who else sees it
Nobody outside Stingers, other than the companies that host the site and carry our email. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising and there is no advertising or analytics tracker on this site at all.
Card details never reach this website or its database. When card payments go live they are handled entirely by the payment provider.
Where it is kept and how
On servers in South Africa. The site is HTTPS only. Signatures and identity numbers are never included in any public page or public API response and are visible only to signed-in staff. Passwords are hashed. Access to the dashboard requires a second factor.
Your rights
- Ask what we hold about you and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it.
- Object to how we are using it.
- Complain to the Information Regulator if you are not satisfied with our answer.

Cookies
One cookie and only for staff. It holds the dashboard sign-in session and is set only after a member of staff signs in. The public site sets no cookies and runs no trackers.
